ABOUT

Classical Music Collection Japan (CMCJ) is a unique concert series rooted in the temples of Kamakura, Japan’s historic medieval capital. Bringing classical music into dialogue with traditional Japanese venues, CMCJ creates new artistic experiences shaped by nature and spirituality.

Since its first concert in 2023, CMCJ has welcomed international artists and continues to share this distinctive vision with a growing audience.

KENTARO
KATA

A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER

I was born and raised in Kamakura and now live in Paris.

When I consider what Japan can share with the world, I return to the temples and shrines of my hometown: spaces that have quietly shaped Japan’s sense of beauty and spirituality over centuries.

With the belief that these spaces can foster new art and culture, I founded CMCJ/Art & Space to share them with the world.

Through temples and shrines across Japan, we aim to create experiences that resonate deeply and remain in people’s hearts around the world.
